Presentation Primary School Carrick on Suir travelled to the Helix on the 21st May 2019 to collect their Regional Award for work on Global Citizenship as part of the Green School’s Programme. They were the only school in Tipperary to receive an award at this event.
Their teachers Marie Hickey and Emma Power and two 4th Class Students, Millie Ryan and Adila Muhammad who are on the Green School’s Committee, along with Helen Cahill, Green School’s Officer from Tipperary County Council collected the award.
The school were overjoyed to then be announced the National Global Citizenship School of the year.
This is a huge achievement for the school and a great reward for all their hard work on the green schools programme.
As part of their work on this flag the school installed sensor lights in the hallways and bathroom to save on energy. Water taps were installed in all the classrooms and students bring reusable bottles to school and the school is now a plastic free.
Projects were done by all the classes on the effect Climate Change has on our plant.
