National Cumann na mBunscol Awards Success for Dualla National School

Dualla National School Cashel received 1st place in Ireland at the prestigious National Cumann na mBunscol Awards held at the Oriel House Hotel Cork on Friday night. The school produced a hard back book full of historical articles, colour photos, match reports, etc. which chronicled the school’s journey in Gaelic Games over a seven year period. The school will also be honoured at a special ceremony in Croke Park at the end of April where they will meet GAA president Aogan O’ Fearghail. Part of the prize will also see 37 children in Rang 3 – 6 given an all access stadium tour of Croke Park with lunch thrown in for good measure! This year’s national awards success for Dualla NS follows on from previous national awards success in 2010 & 2012. 2015 also saw the school make history in winning a first ever county hurling title when they were successful in U11 hurling.

REPORTS NEEDED!!

Schools are reminded and encouraged to send news and updates of their progress in the hurling championships for the coming season. Reports can be a great writing topic for the classroom and are an opportunity for children to see their work published for a wider audience. In the pre-season championship build-up children could be given the chance to tell about their own training regiments and tips for the coming championship. A Reporter of the Week will be chosen and their work included in the weekly report. Please ensure all reports are a single paragraph in Verdana 10 type. All submissions should be proof-read by the teacher before submission.
