The Commons will finally see some Christmas cheer this year as for the first time, lights will turned on in the village.
Cllr Imelda Goldsboro secured the funding for the lights which will be turned on this Friday at 8PM.
Riarthóir Na Coimini of The Commons stated “We are pleased to announce that the first Christmas Lights will be turned on in The Commons on Friday December 16th at 8pm. We are delighted to have two lovely little girls Ella Tobin and Ava Lawlor who are looking forward to turning on the lights. Carol singers will add a lovely touch to the celebration. It will be great to see young and old at this memorable occasion. All offers of help will be greatly appreciated.”
Later that night a fundraising dance will take place in Webster’s Lounge in aid of Ava. Music by Spike Mc Cormack and admission is €5. All proceeds will go to Ava to assist with her medical costs while undergoing her treatment.
