DPP orders case to be dropped in Tipperary assault case

Charges of assault and burglary against the man who discovered the body of Bobby Ryan in West Tipp last year have been dropped.

titleThe Director of Public Prosecutions has instructed Gardai to withdraw the charges against 44 year old Pat Quirke of Breanshamore, Tipperary.

He had been accused of assaulting Mary Lowry at Fawnagown, Tipperary in August of 2012 and also of burglary and handling stolen goods at the same address in December of that year.

Mr. Quirke was the man who discovered murder victim Bobby Ryans body in a disused slurry pit at Fawnagown in April of last year – Mr Ryan had been missing for almost two years.
